MoPac Improvement Project (Parmer Lane to Cesar Chavez interchange), CTRMA, TxDOT, City of Austin, Capital Metro

(July 2006 - December 2007 and July 2010 – August 2012)

 

NLA provided public involvement support for this project, which involved preparation of an Environmental Assessment for the MoPac corridor in Austin from Parmer Lane to Cesar Chavez Street. The study was completed in August 2012, and resulted in a Finding of No Significant Impact for the “Express Lanes with Variable Pricing” alternative. The project is currently being constructed, and is expected to be complete in 2017.

 

NLA responsibilities included the following:

 

  • Project contact database creation and maintenance
  • Open House and Public Hearing planning and implementation (13 Open Houses; 1 Public Hearing)
    • Venue identification, scheduling and contracting
    • Layout preparation
    • Advertisements (English and Spanish display ads, legal notices)
    • Notifications (letters to affected property owners, letters to elected and agency officials, flyers and e-blasts to project mailing list)
    • Security, court reporter and translator contracting
    • Event staffing
    • Open House and Public Hearing Summary Reports (including comment responses)
  • Sound wall workshop planning and implementation (7 workshops)
    • Venue identification, scheduling, and contracting
    • Layout preparation
    • Certified letter preparation and mailing to all adjacent property owners where sound walls were considered
    • Event staffing
    • Sound wall vote collection and analysis
