I-35 Corridor Development, City of Austin

(2010 – 2013)

NLA provided public involvement support to the City of Austin in its initial efforts to identify possible improvements for I-35 from US 290E to William Cannon Drive. This effort, which began after Austin voters approved a $90 million bond program for mobility improvements, quickly grew into what is now the I-35 Capital Area Improvement Program (Mobility35) for Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties.


NLA’s responsibilities included the following:

  • Stakeholder communications and comment responses
  • Social media posts
  • Stakeholder/small group meeting planning and implementation
    • Identification of and communications with stakeholder groups
    • Meeting scheduling and notification
    • Materials preparation
    • Staffing
    • Documentation and follow-up with stakeholders
  • Open House planning and implementation (9 total)
    • Assistance with logistics, advertisements and notifications
    • Preparation of presentations, handouts and exhibits
    • Preparation of online materials
    • Event staffing
    • Summary report/comment response report
