SH 161, President George Bush Turnpike — Western Extension, NTTA

 

NLA served on the team providing administrative support. The project included an 11.5 mile link in the ever-expanding loop around Dallas. The Bush Turnpike Western Extension consists of tolled main lanes, and also the frontage roads, referenced as State Highway 161. The corridor offers cashless tolling on the main lanes in each direction from north of I-30 south to I-20. Phases 1-3 were opened to commuters in 2009-2010 under the direction of TxDOT. Phase 4 was approved by NTTA in 2010 authorizing a toll equity loan agreement with TxDOT. Phase 4 opened in 2012.

NLA responsibilities included:

  • Coordination of meeting requests and schedules
  • Documentation and distribution of project-related information
  • Invoice processing (corridor management team and sub-consultants)
  • Document control, project controls
    • DBE contract requirements
    • Certified payrolls
    • Labor review processes
      • Conducted labor reviews in the field
      • Verified against certified payrolls to ensure compliance with contract and federal requirements
  • Solely responsible for the tracking and Quality Control of:
    • Certified payrolls
    • Apprenticeship training programs/quotas
    • Sub-consultant agreements and trucking lists
  • Point of contact for the public involvement coordinator within NTTA
    • Coordination of weekly and monthly project updates and project photos
  • Proficient utilization of the NTTA document control program, Proliance
