SH 199, TxDOT

 

NLA is the public involvement lead for a project to consider upgrading SH 199 in Tarrant County to improve mobility and safety. TxDOT is considering transforming the roadway into a freeway with frontage roads and reconstructing the interchange at I-820 by replacing the cloverleaf design with direct connectors. The project limits are along SH 199 west of Azle Avenue to Biway Street.

 

NLA responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing and implementing a Public Involvement Plan
  • Project contact database creation and maintenance
  • Meetings with Affected Property Owners
    • Logistics (venue, scheduling and staffing)
    • Notifications (invitations)
    • Materials (sign-in sheets, handouts, agenda)
    • Meeting notes
    • Summary reporting and documentation
  • Public Meetings/Open Houses
    • Logistics (venue, scheduling and staffing)
    • Notifications (invitations, elected official letters, property owner letters, display ads, flyers)
    • Meeting materials (agenda, sign-in sheets, comment forms, exhibit boards, fact sheet)
    • Public Meeting Summary Report (including comment responses)
  • Notice Affording the Opportunity for Public Hearing
  • Public Hearing (if requested)
    • Logistics (venue, scheduling and staffing)
    • Notifications (postcards invitations, legal notices, display ads, elected official letters, property owner letters)
    • Meeting materials (agenda, sign-in sheets, comment forms, exhibit boards, fact sheet)
    • Public Hearing Summary Report (including comment responses)
  • Public Involvement tools
    • Development of project logo to use on project materials
    • Webpage updates for the TxDOT website
